    Australasian Beauty Therapy Academy is proud to be the first and still the only institute in A.C.T. Australia is affiliated with the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC).ITEC is the largest multi-disciplinary international examination board, issuing 28 professional diplomas that are recognized and respected by employers in more than 30 countries. ITEC’s diplomas are widely considered to be the highest professional standing that an esthetician can currently hold, and they are easily transportable from country to country. Presently, they are widely considered to represent the highest esthetic quality in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, enabling members to work in a wide variety of spas, salons, resorts, cruise liners, TV/theatre make-up, holistic centers, clinics, medical esthetics, and other health and leisure centers worldwide.

    After extensive training at ABTA, an ITEC examiner from overseas travels to the Academy to test candidates' theoretical and practical skills, as well as assess their case study portfolios to ensure they comply with ITEC's commitment to quality. The case studies section is extensive-requiring studies in all areas, which are designed to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the field.

    Being a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) means that ABTA meets the requirements set out by the National Vocational Education and Training System (VET). The System is “underpinned by the National Skills Framework.” This consists of three parts:
    The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) - this means the nationally there is an agreement for quality assurance for training and assessments that are delivered by a training organisation.
    The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) – a framework that is comprehensive and qualifications are nationally recognised in any training institution within the country.
    Training Packages – these are nationally endorsed standards and qualifications which are used to recognise people’s skills and assess them for their specific industry for which they have trained.

    Founded in 1946 with its Head Office in Zurich, Switzerland. CIDESCO is pepresented in over 33 countries.

    The CIDESCO Diploma is the world's most prestigious qualification in the field of Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy.

    Since 1957 the CIDESCO qualification has set standards that have been imitated over the five continents of the globe.

    There are over 160 CIDESCO Schools around the world teaching to the internationally acclaimed CIDESCO standards leading to the CIDESCO Diploma.

    Students must undergo a course of at least 1200 hours of training in practical and theoretical work in a registered CIDESCO School.

    The prestigious CIDESCO Diploma is awarded to candidates who have passed the CIDESCO examinations and given proof of having gained at least 600 hours work experience in a beauty center/salon.
